Events are where I get to meet people from every walk of life, usually while making a fool of myself to get a real smile instead of a camera-face one. There's no genre I'd rather work in this way — a parade, a corporate gala, a ceremonial event, they're all just different rooms full of moments unfolding in real time, and my job is to be there when they do. I shoot photojournalistic style no matter what the event is — no posing, no "everybody look here," just following the room and catching what actually happens. Sports, dance, the whole rest of this blog — it's really all the same instinct, just pointed at a different kind of room.
